The Pulice Family of Companies’ safety program is built on 100% employee involvement and a commitment to excellence in safety. The Company strives for zero job related injuries / illnesses. Our management team is fully committed to performing work safely and accident free. In order to accomplish these goals, we have developed an aggressive safety program which includes safety policies and procedures that meet, or in most cases exceed, OSHA standards. Employees are trained to plan and work safely, recognize unsafe conditions or acts, and initiate corrective actions.
The safety philosophy of Pulice focuses on accountability, which is driven by a set of expectations for each level of the company from Senior Management and Supervisors through our craft level employees. Safety performance is monitored at the corporate and project levels through our Trending and Auditing processes. Through our management review process, we look for the root cause of incidents, addressing behaviors and lagging indicators in an effort to continually improve our safety program.
Supervisors at all levels will participate in frequent training to maintain and improve their safety management skills. All new employees are required to participate in an introductory safety orientation. Safety meetings are considered an investment of time and energy for the development of the workforce, rather than an interruption of schedule/loss of production time. These meetings include daily pre-shift briefings, weekly tool-box meetings, and monthly project-wide safety meetings.
The Company participates in industry safety committees through the Associated General Contractors (AGC). It also maintains a partnering relationship with Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH) by utilizing ADOSH training and jobsite consultative inspections.
