Construction of 6.14 miles of the I-17 freeway, expanding it from two lanes to five lanes in each direction (one HOV, three general purpose, one auxiliary), while maintaining traffic. Included construction of eight bridges, including three over Central Arizona Project (CAP) and one over Skunk Creek. Two bridges were widened under live traffic and one bridge was removed and replaced. Because five other projects in the area were being constructed concurrently, close coordination was key.
Scheduling milestones were adjusted accordingly to ensure accurate lane shifts, and our team focused on maximizing day-to-day communications with the area contractors.
