Pulice – a FlatironDragados company, has completed the Taxiway C Phase 2 Reconstruction project at Dallas Love Field Airport on time and in accordance with the project schedule.
Delivered under an aggressive 225-calendar-day schedule, the project included the demolition and reconstruction of the existing taxiway, along with associated infrastructure improvements to support continued airfield operations. The scope included earthwork, crushed aggregate base, lean concrete base, concrete paving, drainage enhancements and airfield lighting installation.
Crews have now completed:
- More than 42,000 square yards of asphalt and concrete demolition and removal.
- Approximately 12,600 cubic yards of earthwork.
- 43,000 square yards of crushed aggregate base.
- 25,000 cubic yards of machine and hand-placed concrete for the taxiway, shoulders and islands.
The project was delivered in four phases, each requiring careful sequencing and coordination within a live airfield environment. One of the most demanding portions of work came during Phase 1A, which had to be completed within a 35-day window. With limited workspace, tight time constraints and concurrent operations occurring near adjacent phases, the work required detailed planning and close collaboration among project stakeholders.
Through that coordination, the team successfully completed and reopened Phases 1 and 1A on schedule, helping maintain operational efficiency and establishing momentum for the remaining phases.
"Working in a live airfield environment requires close collaboration among airport operations, airlines, FAA representatives and construction teams," said Project Manager Clayton Strong. "The coordination shown throughout this project was critical to its success."
With construction complete, the project has transitioned into final inspections, system verification, operational readiness and closeout documentation.
