Pulice Construction, Inc. was awarded the I-10 Gila River Bridge project.
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is developing a project to replace the aging I-10 bridges over the Gila River. The original bridges were constructed in 1964 with a functional lifespan of between 50 and 75 years. Major flooding events over the years resulted in waters rising within inches of the bridge girders, causing concern for floating debris that could potentially damage the bridge structure, resulting in closure of I-10.
This project is located in Pinal County on I-10 approximately 30 miles south of Phoenix. The project is located between mileposts 172.7 and 173.7.
The project will consist of removing and replacing the existing thirteen span prestressed concrete girder bridges with new thirteen span prestressed concrete girder bridges. Additionally, the project will include roadway approach widening, guardrail reconstruction, pavement markings, and other miscellaneous work.
The project is expected to be completed by Summer 2026.
