The Loop 1604 North Expansion Project Segment 4 recently reached the 50% completion mark following a beam setting operation at the Redland Bridge overpass in San Antonio.
Crews successfully installed 17 bridge beams, including the longest measuring 119 feet and weighing more than 104,000 pounds. The operation required extensive planning and coordination among project teams, subcontractors and traffic control personnel while working within limited overnight lane closure windows.
The beam setting marks an important step toward completing both Redland Bridges and advancing the overall progress of Segment 4. With the beams now in place, crews are preparing for the next phase of work, including reinforced concrete slab pours.
The Loop 1604 North Expansion Project Segment 4 is designed to improve mobility and accommodate continued growth along one of San Antonio's busiest transportation corridors.
