Construction is progressing on a new four-lane bridge over the Pharr San Juan Main Canal as part of the 365 Tollway project in South Texas.
Earlier this summer, crews installed cofferdams within the canal to hold back the water and create dry work areas for bridge construction. With the cofferdams in place, work has shifted to foundations that will support the structure.
Crews have drilled 54-inch-wide shafts 84 feet deep and are now building four columns on each side of the canal as foundation work progresses.
Once complete, the bridge will carry two lanes of traffic in each direction as part of the 365 Tollway, a new roadway that will provide an additional connection in the Rio Grande Valley.
