Regional leaders gathered with Pulice – a FlatironDragados company – to break ground on the SR 303L and I-17 Traffic Interchange Project, spotlighting impactful collaboration. Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs spoke at the event, joined by Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers, El Mirage Mayor Alexis Hermosillo, ADOT Director Jennifer Toth and community partners to launch this vital north Phoenix investment.
The $129 million ADOT project will improve safety and mobility in a booming corridor near the TSMC Arizona facility. It also launches a new era of regional transportation investment as the first project funded through Proposition 479, the voter-approved half-cent sales tax extension that will support critical projects across Maricopa County.
Our teams are putting in direct freeway-to-freeway ramps at the key intersection of SR 303L and I-17. The current design requires motorists to leave the highway and go through a traffic signal. Additionally, we will widen SR 303L between 51st Avenue and I-17, and build five new bridges, major drainage, retaining walls and sound walls.
Work is expected to finish in 2028.
