New I-40 infrastructure will expand access to airport and other key areas to support regional long-term economic growth.
Pulice – a FlatironDragados company joined the Arizona Department of Transportation, the City of Kingman and other community partners to celebrate the opening of the Flying Fortress Traffic Interchange and Flying Fortress Parkway connection to Airway Avenue in Kingman, Ariz.

In a nod to the nearby Kingman Airport’s origins as a training ground for WWII pilots and gunners, attendees at the public celebration were treated to a flyover by a B-17 Flying Fortress.
The grand opening marked the completion of a transportation investment designed to improve access in east Kingman while strengthening connections between Interstate 40, the airport and other nearby employers, industrial areas and development-ready land.
The interchange also eases congestion around Kingman’s stretch of the historic Route 66 highway.

Our teams began work on the interchange in 2024 and finished on schedule this year.
“This project creates infrastructure that can serve Kingman starting on day one,” Pulice President Victor Jimenez said. “By improving access to vital commercial areas, the Flying Fortress Traffic Interchange will help create new economic opportunities. I am excited Pulice could be part of this milestone for a great community.”
ADOT praised Pulice and other contractors for their work on the project.
“In terms of contractor partnership, this has been one of the best projects I’ve worked on,” said Project Supervisor Ken Dudley. “From the beginning, the project team had a great relationship, and we resolved any issues through open and prompt communication.”

What did the Flying Fortress Traffic Interchange project include?
Major elements of the $44 million project in Northwest Arizona include:

- New sections of four-lane Flying Fortress Parkway (previously known as Rancho Santa Fe Parkway)
- A connection between the interchange and Airway Avenue
- Bicycle lanes, sidewalks, curb and gutter and a raised median
- Improved access intended to accommodate future traffic demand and reduce pressure on the existing East Kingman interchange
