Three interns with Pulice – a FlatironDragados company were awarded scholarships following a summer of hands-on experience and professional development. Each summer, our team awards scholarships through its Intern Scholarship Program to three interns pursuing degrees at four-year colleges or universities
Recipients are selected based on their performance throughout the summer and end-of-internship presentation.
Yadira Martinez, Isaiah Davis and Adam Naranjo were recognized for their contributions and performance throughout the summer. Each gained experience across estimating and project operations while developing skills they can carry into their careers.
Martinez, a Construction Management student at the University of Houston, worked with the estimating team in Austin, where she gained insight into the teamwork and problem-solving involved in developing competitive bids. One of her biggest takeaways was the importance of asking questions and continuing to learn throughout her career.
Davis, a Construction Management & Technology student at Arizona State University, also worked in estimating, where he explored technologies that = support the bidding process, including creating a 3D project model. His experience reinforced the importance of patience and sparked an interest in pursuing estimating after gaining field experience.
Naranjo, a Civil Engineering student at Texas Tech University, spent his internship on the SL 1604 Segment 4 project in San Antonio. His experience included seeing crews set 17 bridge beams and learning about the planning and coordination behind the operation. His biggest takeaway was how important planning and clear communication across the project team are for a project’s success.
Congratulations to Yadira, Isaiah and Adam on their accomplishments and a summer well spent.
