The Port Arthur team has completed a temporary cofferdam in Zone 5 of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Port Arthur Floodwall & Levee Raise Project (PAV03A), marking an important step toward the next phase of construction.
The temporary cofferdam creates a dry work area, allowing crews to safely build new foundations at one of the area’s major pump stations. Construction will also include installing 10 vertical life gates.
The work is part of the larger Port Arthur Floodwall & Levee Raise Project, which is designed to strengthen the city’s hurricane flood protection system and improve the resilience of critical infrastructure.
