I-10 Broadway Curve

The I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement project transformed one of Arizona’s busiest transportation corridors, improving safety, mobility and regional connectivity throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. Spanning more than 11 miles and serving more than 300,000 vehicles each day, the project addressed growing congestion and increasing travel demand along a critical interstate route.

Completed in 2025, the project widened Interstate 10, improved the interchange with State Route 143, and constructed or improved 21 bridges. A key innovation was the introduction of Arizona’s first collector-distributor road system along I-10, which separates local and through traffic to improve safety and traffic flow. The project also added dual high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes and a new pedestrian and bicycle connection, creating a more efficient and multimodal transportation network.

By improving access to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, supporting transit and ridesharing, and reducing travel delays, the project delivers long-term benefits for residents, businesses and visitors while helping the region prepare for continued growth.
