The Challenge

Pulice was the managing joint venture partner to provide two HOV freeway-to-freeway connections to SR 202L, one from Interstate 10 and the other from SR 101L, as well as 10 miles of new HOV lanes within the SR 202L corridor. The 300-day fast-track project included three freeway-to-freeway HOV ramp bridge structures, median widening of the existing freeway to accommodate the new HOV lanes, and over 20 lane miles of PCCP paving.

The alternative technical concepts that the Design-Build team incorporated into the winning proposal resulted in a bid that was 41% below ADOT’s construction budget with a 46% shorter project duration. 2012 Marvin M.
