On May 19, 2015, the City of Carlsbad awarded Pulice Construction, Inc. (Pulice) the Agua Hedionda Sewer Lift Station project, with a bid of $44,195,300.00. The Design-Bid-Build project is scheduled to begin construction in August 2015 and reach completion within 460 days.
The project includes the construction of a prefabricated steel truss bridge; construction of a 33 million gallon a day capacity wastewater lift station; construction of approximately 4,000 lineal feet of 36-inch diameter HDPE sewer force main pipeline by open cut and trenchless methods of installation; construction of approximately 6,900 lineal feet of 54-inch diameter gravity flow sewer pipeline by a combination of open cut and trenchless construction methods; construction of approximately 290 lineal feet of 42- inch diameter gravity flow pipeline; and construction of approximately 11,000 lineal feet of 18-inch and 12-inch diameter PVC recycled water pipeline and appurtenances.
The project also includes demolition of the existing sewer lift station, removal of a wooden truss bridge and removal of approximately 1,200 lineal feet of 42-inch diameter reinforced concrete sewer pipe and the miscellaneous components of the existing sewer. Additional scope includes approximately 290,000 square feet of asphalt concrete overlay work.
